The Researchers Alliance for Development http://www.radnetwork.org/

The Researchers Alliance for Development an informal, action-oriented, multidisciplinary network of researchers and academics that provides a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas on international development.

Objectives:
1. Facilitating interaction between the academic community and the World Bank;

2. Mobilizing the academic and student community on development issues and curricula, facilitating mutual flow of knowledge.


The activities of the RAD are coordinated by the Steering Committee composed of 10 researchers.

The RAD Secretariat is located at the World Bank Paris Office and is coordinated by the Development Policy Dialogue Team.

Speak out to Business! The World Bank Institute wants to hear YOUR opinion on the role business should play in dealing with two of today’s global challenges: Climate Change and Good Governance. Now you have the chance to discuss and give input to the international business community on businesses' potential contributions to creating an environment conducive to scaling up sustainable investment.

This E-discussion gives YOU the opportunity to contribute to a real-world, high-level business and policy discussion with your own recommendations.

About the E-discussion: Youth from around the world will discuss and debate on two key themes from the World Bank’s upcoming International Business Forum: Business Action on Combating Corruption: Setting One's Own Standards Business Engagement in Climate and Energy Policies: Climate Change - The Impact on Corporate Strategy

Why participate? The outcomes of discussion will be shared as recommendations for the international business leaders who will be convening at the International Business Forum at the World Bank in early October 2007.

Participants: All youth are invited to join: students from high schools, colleges, universities, and young professionals.

Format: This consultation will be conducted through an online World Bank Forum, and will connect multiple high schools, colleges, universities and young professionals for a lively, cross-cultural discussion.

For each week’s topic, a World Bank moderator will provide an overview of key trends and issues, post points for participants to discuss. Recommendations which come out of the discussions will be reported to business leaders during the opening Plenary Session of the 12th International Business Forum in October 2007 at the World Bank Headquarters.
